Adjustable Aggression for Any Condition

Tightly spaced disc blades are mounted on an adjustable disc gang, letting you dial in the cutting aggression to match your ground conditions. Choose from 3″ or 4″ blade spacing depending on your application, going tighter for dense grass establishment, wider for more aggressive soil penetration.

Proven Kasco Metering, Built In

The seedbox following the disc blades uses the same reliable metering system found across Kasco’s line-up. It’s simple to adjust, compatible with a wide variety of seed types and consistent pass after pass.

The presswheel cultipacker finishes the job by driving the metering system and leaving a firm, finished seedbed grade for optimal seed-to-soil contact.

When to Use the Vari-Slice Overseeder 

The Vari-Slice Overseeder is ideal whenever seed needs to be introduced into an existing stand or planted into soil conditions where maintaining surface integrity is important. Unlike traditional tillage-based seeding methods, the Vari-Slice uses slicing discs to create openings for seed placement while minimizing overall site disturbance.  

• Pasture overseeding and forage improvement: Improve thinning pastures without extensive ground preparation. The Vari-Slice can be used to introduce desirable forage species into existing pasture stands while helping preserve established ground cover. The seeding charts include settings for common forage crops such as alfalfa, orchard grass, timothy, clovers, rye, oats and wheat. 
• Sports field renovation: Athletic fields often require routine overseeding to maintain turf density and appearance. The Vari-Slice allows seed to be placed directly into existing turf, making it a valuable tool for schools, parks departments and sports complexes.  
• Golf course maintenance: Golf course superintendents can use the Vari-Slice for overseeding fairways, roughs and other maintained turf areas where minimizing disruption to existing playing surfaces is important.  
• New construction and site restoration: Following grading and site preparation, the Vari-Slice can be used to establish grass and vegetation on newly developed properties. Applications may include commercial developments, residential construction projects, parks, utility projects and other disturbed sites requiring vegetation establishment.  
• Native grass establishment: For conservation plantings and habitat improvements, the optional patented Positive Feed Agitator System is designed specifically to handle native warm-season grasses. This provides additional flexibility for operators working with challenging seed varieties.
• Wildlife food plots and habitat projects: The broad seed handling capabilities of the Vari-Slice make it suitable for planting a variety of wildlife habitat species, forage crops and conservation seed mixtures.
